Gender Identity Training Program (GITP)

The creation of the Gender Identity Training Program (GITP) began by the LBGT Coordinator in 2007 after the inclusion of “gender identity” in the WMU non-discrimination policy. The goals of the program are to provide a comprehensive educational module to members of the university and surrounding communities about gender identity and expression. What is it?
The Gender Identity Training Program is a comprehensive educational training module provided by the Office of LBGT Student Services to provide further education to the campus and surrounding community about gender identity and gender expression.

What are the goals of the program?
- to promote a more inclusive environment on campus and in the greater community.
- to educate on the diversity and spectrum of gender identity and gender expression.
- to further educate progressive institutions and organizations with inclusive policies arlready in place.
- to educate organizations and institutions wishing to expand their policies to be more inclusive.

How long does it take?
The training program lasts about an hour, be we always encourage an extra hour for discussion, if possible.

How does it work with my organization?
We can tailor a GITP presentation for your organization or business with your own non-discrimination policies.
