Biography

Mustafa Mughazy is an Associate Professor of Arabic and Linguistics at Western Michigan University, where he coordinates the Arabic program. Dr. Mughazy earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Theoretical Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University, and a B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Alexandria University, Egypt. He is the author of Dardasha: Introduction to Egyptian Arabic and the editor of Perspectives on Arabic Linguistics XX, in addition to a series of articles and book chapters. His research interests include the interface of semantics and pragmatics and the issues of temporal reference in Arabic. His passion is developing print and on-line teaching materials.
