Bronco NetID

The primary computer account available to all students is called a Bronco NetID (see Bronco NetID Services and Quotas). A Bronco NetID is used for all official WMU communications, Webmail Plus, and access to online services offered through GoWMU.

Bronco NetIDs are automatically generated at the time of a student's admission to WMU and remain active throughout a student's enrollment and for approximately twelve months after no further enrollment, or approximately 24 months after graduation.

Bronco NetIDs are issued with a temporary password which must be activated before the account can be used. To activate your password, go to gowmu.wmich.edu and click either "First Time Logging in" or "Set Your Password". When you activate your password, you will be prompted to create a challenge phrase. This will allow you to reset your password if you've forgotten it.

Passwords must be changed at least once per year. Beginning thirty days from the anniversary of the last changed date, emailed notices, as well as notifications within GoWMU will be made. For more information, see Password Guidelines and the Password Management Policy.

Students who do not remember their Bronco NetID and/or password may swipe their Bronco Card at any of the on-campus card swipe locations: BCC Lab, CAE Center, Kellogg Computer Lab, Help Desk, Registrar's Office, Rood Hall Arts & Sciences Lab, Sangren Labs, and the UCC Lab.

Students who are not on the local Kalamazoo campus may contact the Help Desk at (269) 387-4357 (387-HELP) for assistance with their Bronco NetID. And, students at regional sites may obtain a Bronco NetID and password changes at their regional site.
