On Campus Connections

On-campus connections (Ethernet) are provided by the Technical Computing Services (TCS) unit of the Office of Information Technology (OIT). These connections are facilitated via the data jack that accompanies the voice (telephone) jack in most offices on campus. Computers being connected to the network require an Ethernet card, preferably a 10/100Mb card. Most computers sold today come with such a card already installed.

There are charges for these services. To find out what charges apply to your situation, please contact your service representative.

Notes

Charges are for equipment, materials and labor to establish network connectivity for the user. While there are no direct charges for WMUnet backbone usage, free access to network services should not be assumed. Network resources are available based on policies and charges established by the owner/operator of the resources.

Network misuse as interpreted under WMU policy on computing may result in immediate disconnection and/or other sanctions.
