CTO Updates March 2015

I am pleased to share with the WMU community the following technology related news and updates.  If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you. I can be reached at tom.wolf@wmich.edu or (269) 387-3838. Go WMU! Go Broncos!

Did you know: in three short months over 3,250 students, faculty and staff have started using WMU's new Google Apps for Education? Over 630,000 files have been uploaded, over 120,000 files have been shared, and Google Hangouts are trending at about seven per day. Thanks everyone for making the first three months of Google Apps a huge success.

SharePoint: SharePoint 2013 is now available to WMU employees for use as departmental intranets and for long term data distribution to closed groups. More information and request a SharePoint site.

Wired versus Wireless: Are you tired of messing around with adapters, VGA and HDMI cables when trying to connect your device to the technology in your conference room? Would you like to find out about wireless options? If yes, I would encourage you to touch base with the Office of Information Technology's conference room support team to discuss options, such as Airmedia. Or, stop by the University Computing Center and as tom.wolf@wmich.edu or arnold.taylor@wmich.edu for a quick demonstration.
