Conferences

The Department of Business Information Systems is dedicated to providing a conference each fall in order to facilitate discussion and information on cutting-edge technology. These conferences include keynote speakers, paper presentations and a great way for our students and local employers to network with one another. Each year alternates between two different conferences—the International Conference on Health Information Technology Advancement and the Western Michigan IT Forum.

International Conference on Health Information Technology Advancement

The Department of Business Information Systems co-directs the Center for Health Information Technology Advancement with the College of Health and Human Services. In turn, the center hosts the biennial International Conference on Health Information Technology Advancement. This conference facilitates work among stakeholders in conducting synergistic, interdisciplinary and innovative research, training and services to provide the most efficient and effective health care.

Western Michigan IT Forum

The Department of Business Information Systems hosts this biennial conference in the fall and focuses on different topics of information technology in business, industry, healthcare, government and education.
