Cast Metals

This option gives you the opportunity to actively learn how to produce and test materials essential to the manufacturing industry. Our lab allows students to experiment with melting, molding, and casting processes such as, Die casting, Alloy formulation, Sand mulling and molding, Shell molding, Evaporate pattern casting, Electric induction melting, Grinding and Finishing, and Testing and Measurement.

Career opportunities with the Metal Casting option include the following:

  • Melt Supervisor
  • Molding Supervisor

Elective Requirements

To earn this option, four (4) courses in this area of concentration must be completed. The selection of the courses should be as per the curriculum selected.
