Interdisciplinary Humanities Groups
Call for Proposals
As a gathering place for intellectual dialogue and exchange and with the goal of bringing together graduate students and faculty from across programs and disciplines, the Western Michigan University Center for the Humanities invites proposals for Interdisciplinary Humanities Groups.
A research group is a way to approach challenging and important topics in the humanities and develop theoretical interest and research in new areas with the support of a knowledgeable, diverse group of colleagues. It also provides an opportunity to move across disciplinary boundaries in academic life and to meet scholars with similar interests around campus.
The University Center for the Humanities will support a semester of work by interdisciplinary groups, providing space for meetings, help with organization and advertising, and a small hosting fund (e.g., for refreshments).
Successful group proposals must include:
Proposals will be reviewed by the advisory board of the University Center for the Humanities.
Deadline for proposals for the academic year 2014/2015: April 18, 2014 (awards announced on May 5, 2014)
