PPM Section 13 - Leaves and Absences from Work: Bereavement Leave

Non-bargaining, benefits-eligible employees are covered by the University's bereavement leave provisions. (See bereavement leave in the employee handbook.)


The employee must notify his/her immediate supervisor of the impending absence and request payment for bereavement leave. The University reserves the right to require certification of the death and the employee's relationship to the deceased when bereavement leave is requested.
