Performance management

Each fiscal year, Staff Compensation System employees work with their supervisors to determine personal job objectives and targeted competencies. This interactive process continues throughout the year and includes periodic feedback sessions and a written year-end review.

Timeline for Performance Management Process

June—August

Determine objectives and competencies; complete form.

Throughout Year

Supervisor provides employee with informal feedback and direction.

May 1—15

Supervisor conducts year-end review with employee. Employee notes comments and supervisor notes comments and ratings on form.

Forms

The WMU Performance Management process consists of two forms: Annual Review Form and Employee Self Review Work Sheet (optional.) These forms and a detailed set of instructions are available on the HR Forms page.

Training and questions

SCS employees and supervisors of SCS employees are invited to view a video highlighting the performance management program. Please visit HR's Online Training Opportunities to access the video.

Please contact your Human Resource Representative to schedule live performance management training for both current and new employees and supervisors. Your HR Representative is also available to answer your questions about the process.
