WMU Make a Difference awards are reserved for Staff Compensation System, AFSCME, MSEA, and POA employees. If you know of a coworker or staff member who deserves to be honored for outstanding service to Western Michigan University, use one of the options below to nominate him or her for a semiannual award.

A committee of peers will select award recipients based on your comments, not on the individual's reputation, title, or position. Provide specific information and use descriptive examples in support of your nominee to assure this person gets the full consideration deserved. To ensure unbiased selection, your nominee will remain anonymous to the committee throughout the selection process. Therefore, please do not use her or his name in your comments.
Each year, Fall nominations are due October 31 and Spring nominations are due February 28. For each semiannual round up to 15 recipients will be awarded $250 and honored at a reception. From the pool of semiannual awardees, four annual awards of $1,000 will be selected in June.
