Non-bargaining employees

  • Independence Day - Thursday, July 4, 2013
  • Labor Day - Monday, Sept. 2, 2013
  • Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013
  • Day after Thanksgiving - Friday, Nov. 29, 2013
  • Christmas Day - Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013
  • New Year's Day – Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Monday, Jan. 20, 2014
  • Memorial Day - Monday, May 26, 2014

Important notes:

  • Employees may use annual leave to celebrate religious holidays on days the University operates under normal business hours.
  • Employees who are required to work on designated holidays are eligible for holiday pay, as outlined in the HR Policies and Procedures Manual.

Non-bargaining employees–winter closure

  • Winter closure period: Thursday, Dec. 26, through Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.
  • WMU will resume normal business hours on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.
  • Offices that may remain open during closure:
    • Bernhard Center
    • Development Office
    • Lawson Ice Arena
    • Sindecuse Health Center
    • West Hills Athletic Club
  • Offices that will remain open 24 hours per day, seven days a week during closure:
    • Public Safety
    • Power Plant

Important notes:

  • Some employees, not assigned to the offices listed above, may be required to work because of designated tasks. These employees will be notified by their supervisors as soon as possible.
  • Employees who are required to work on closure days will be provided with alternative time off at a later date, as arranged by their supervisor.
