Training: Title IX

You are invited to participate in the following interactive, online training programs developed specifically for Western Michigan University. Each program is self-paced but is designed to take approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete. Participants access these programs through the SLATE Learning Management System, which will allow participants to view and complete each program and to track their progress. Register and begin.

  1. Title IX awareness and violence prevention. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded education programs or activities. Learn more about your responsibilities under Title IX and how to prevent discrimination and violence.
  2. Unlawful harassment prevention. Unlawful harassment is offensive, unwelcome conduct concerning protected classes. Review supporting laws and learn what your responsibilities are for preventing and responding to such occurrences.
  3. Bullying prevention. Bullying is repeated abusive conduct that causes harm to the target. Learn how to address bullying and recognize the signs.
