Since so many students use the social networking site Facebook, the Exercise Science Program has created two Facebook groups which will hopefully facilitate communication between students, build a sense of community within the program, and aid in the delivery of information from the program to students and alumni.

The first group is for current students of the Exercise Science Program. The address to join the group is:

The Exercise Science Program is pleased to announce that the name of the graduate degree in exercise science has been changed from a "Master of Arts in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science" to a "Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Medicine (Exercise Physiology Track)." This change will become effective at the beginning of the Fall 2007 semester.

Dr. Cheatham and Dr. Michael were recently awarded a $190,200 grant from the Department of Defense to build an Environmental Physiology Laboratory within the Exercise Science Laboratory.  The new lab will be functional sometime during the Fall 2006 semester. Exercise Science graduate student Joe Tofferi will be defending his thesis entitled "The Effects of Pitching Cords on Speed and Accuracy in Female Collegiate Softball Pitchers" on Wednesday, July 19, 3PM, in room SRC 1035.
