Dr. Michael Miller conducted a lecture for the distinguished lecture series for Middle Tennessee State University on Sat., Nov. 22. Miller spoke on asthma in athletes and aquatics as a tool for the rehabilitation, cross-training, and sport enhancement of the athlete.
Individuals seeking teacher certification in the State of Michigan are required to hold valid CPR and First Aid certifications recognized by either the Red Cross or the American Heart Association. The fall CPR schedule and enrollment form is now available, and enrollment is limited.
Jessica Goth, Master of Arts in Athletic Training, Dr. Suzan Ayers, and Dr. Michael Miller wrote "Self-Reported Health and Fitness Habits of Certified Athletic Trainers" published in the Journal of Athletic Training.

The 45th Annual Turkey Trot 5K road race was co-sponsored by University Recreation and Phi Epsilon Kappa (honorary fraternity for physical education and exercise science majors/minors). PEK assisted with the canned food drive with a goal of 450 cans based on this being the 45th year of the race. The students collected 755 cans for Loaves and Fishes, a local food bank!
CEPA is hosting an iWebfolio contest for WMU students. Five of the best portfolios will be chosen and each student will be given a $100 prize. To enter the contest, please share permission with the permission tree within iWebfolio. Deadline for submission is Dec. 8 midnight. Winners will be announced Dec. 15 at noon.
