New Undergraduate Exercise Science Program Curriculum Information (Starting Fall 2010 Semester)

About the New Exercise Science Program

Starting in the Fall 2010 semester, the undergraduate exercise science program will significantly change from the current program.

Based upon changes in our student population and feedback from our students, we felt that the program could be improved to meet the needs of our students. Exercise science students pursue a diverse number of career paths. Currently, many students choose to enter graduate programs in physical therapy, physician assistance, exercise physiology, and medicine. Many students also pursue the more traditional career paths of personal training, corporate wellness, cardiac rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning.

Our overall goal in changing the program was to develop a curriculum that would allow students to individualize their program based on their chosen career path and to better meet the needs of the majority of our students.

We have developed several web pages that we hope will help the student understand the changes that have been made in order to make a smooth transition to the new program. We have included pages that will provide the coursework for the new program, summarize the changes that have been made, and answer some of the most anticipated "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)".
