Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to live at Spindler Hall, you must either be a WMU graduate student, an undergraduate senior or a non-traditional student at least 21 years of age. Students must be enrolled for at least one credit hour in both the fall and spring semesters.
Summer sessions
You are eligible to remain at Spindler Hall through the summer I and summer II sessions without taking classes, provided that you are pre-registered for the following fall semester. In addition, any new resident assuming occupancy at Spindler Hall during the summer I or summer II sessions must be enrolled for the upcoming fall semester. Any resident who is not registered for the upcoming fall semester must be enrolled for a minimum of one credit hour for each session (summer I or summer II) in order to remain eligible for residency at Spindler Hall.

November 1 for spring assignments
March 1 for summer I assignments
May 1 for summer II assignments
Submitting an application does not guarantee an assignment.
Necessary payments
A security deposit equal to one month's rent must be paid before your room assignment is made. In addition to the security deposit, the pro-rated portion of the first month from the move-in date until the end of the month must also be paid at this time.
After the first month, rent is due by the first day of every month and is considered late if it is not paid by the fifth day of the month for which it applied. If you are receiving financial aid, it may be possible to defer the first month's payment until your aid is received. However, the deposit cannot be deducted from financial aid and must be paid by the time you pick up keys. Since rent is billed by the month, and not by the semester, financial aid only pays the first month of the semester. You are responsible for paying the remaining months of the semester.
