Umma Scholars

Located in Harrison Hall, the Umma Scholars community is designed for students interested in the world. Whether it's having an international student as a roommate, being a language partner for an international student, or discussing the latest political or economic global issue, there is a lot you can do to expand your knowledge of culture and the world. This is an ideal community for those considering majors in international business, a foreign language, or global studies, or those considering studying abroad.

How do I sign up for the community?

During the online sign-up process you will be asked to select a special interest housing option. Simply select Umma Scholars as your preference and indicate Harrison Hall as your first choice. Space is limited after May 15, so list an additional three residence hall preferences. If you have a roommate preference, both you and your roommate must request each other in order to be matched in the community. If your requested roommate is not in the Umma Scholars community, we may not be able to place you together in the community if interest in it is high.

Current WMU students interested in living in the Umma Scholars community should come to the Office of Residence Life to sign up.
