Second Year Experience
A lot of attention and resources are given to first year students, and then they suddenly find themselves on their own their second year. The SYE is designed to ease that shift. Second year students already know how to navigate Western, so the SYE focuses on providing direction in personal, academic and career related matters. The French Hall staff is specifically trained to work with upper-level students.
Hall Highlights
- French Hall is designated for students with sophomore status or above
- SYE program hosts an alumni dinner series that lets residents network with alumni from their academic college
- Past activities include career exploration, developing a resume, study abroad, finding internships, interview attire fashion show and financing your education.
- A Student Success Center offering tutoring in math, chemistry, physics and engineering is open evenings.
- French Hall located near the Student Recreation Center and University Arena
