Aviation House

Located in Henry Hall, the Aviation House is a great opportunity for those interested in aviation to live together. Activities include field trips to various aviation companies in West Michigan and the Air Zoo, faculty dinners and speakers on topics like Airline Etiquette 101, Setting up for Success and Financing Your Education. Ample parking is located by the hall, and students commuting to Battle Creek can take advantage of the no meal plan option offered in Henry. More...

College of Engineering and Applied Sciences House

CEAS House residents participate in dinners with faculty, networking opportunities with alumni and young professionals, and social events. The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences sponsors academic advising hours and a computer lab in the hall for CEAS House residents. Fine Arts House

Housed in Draper/Siedschlag Hall, the Fine Arts House is ideal for art, dance, music and theatre majors in the College of Fine Arts. Activities focus on opportunities for all areas of the arts to interact as well as a trip to Chicago or Detroit to see a performance. There are soundproof practice rooms and studio space in the hall. Health and Human Services House

Housed in Eicher Hall (Valley II), the Health and Human Services House is ideal for students exploring health-related professions. Partnering with Sindecuse Health Center and the College of Health and Human Services, floor activities include an introduction to health-related careers, networking over lunch with health professionals and touring local hospitals and alternative care facilities. Students admitted to the Lee Honors College can choose to live in the Honors Community in Ackley Hall (Valley I). An extended quiet hours hall, Ackley maintains an environment conducive to academic success. Residents are highly involved in hall activities and leadership opportunities. Second Year Experience

For many students, their second year is referred to as the "sophomore slump," a term used to describe the confusion and uncertainty that sometimes occurs during the sophomore year. WMU has so much to offer from sports to theater to more than 150 majors and minors. The best way to discover it all is with fellow Magellan House explorers. Topics include self-discovery and career exploration, staying active on campus and maximizing campus support services. Special sections of the First Year Seminar are reserved for Magellan residents. Transfer student communities

WMU offers two specialty options for transfer students, Tenzing House and Hoekje Hall. Both communities are designed to ease the transition to WMU, and activities and social events focus on connecting residents with other students, the campus and Kalamazoo. There is also an optional retreat prior to the academic year so students can get established and meet people. Tenzing House is located in Davis Hall and French Hall.
