WMU is excited to welcome students to campus! With 5,000 students anxious to move-in and get settled, we’ve designed a move-in system that differentiates between new and returning students. Please refer to the chart below to see what date and, for new students, what time you should arrive.
The residence halls will not open their doors prior to the official move-in time, so you don’t need to arrive early to “beat the rush.” We’ve already taken care of spreading out arrival times to minimize your wait for unloading, checking in and the elevators.

Early Arrival – Can I move in before my scheduled date?
Students are not able to move in earlier than their assigned move-in date. If you have a conflict, you are welcome to move in at a later time than your scheduled arrival day. You do not need to arrive on your assigned day.
Late Arrival – Can I move in after my scheduled date?
You are welcome to move in any day after your assigned move-in date. Students who will be moving in after the first week of school should contact the Residence Life office so their room can be held.
Fall Welcome participants who will not be arriving on their move-in day should contact the First Year Experience office at (269) 387-2167 for directions on check into the program. You will need a program book, ambassador group assignment, and name tag to eat.
