Hall Chair Information

In addition to being a Bronco Buddy, students may choose to volunteer as a hall chair. Hall chairs are the on-site coordinators at each hall. They assist with move in as a Bronco Buddy but have the additional responsibilities of organizing volunteers, communicating with the Bronco Buddies coordinator, listening to concerns from parents and fellow Bronco Buddies, and providing a point of information for fellow Bronco Buddies.

Hall chairs move in Aug. 22, a day before Bronco Buddies. Chairs attend a training session regarding their job responsibilities, and they then help present at the training session for volunteers.

Hall chairs must be available for all move in. They work 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24, 25 and 26. There are also breakfast meetings the days of move in.

Chairs must live in the Western Michigan University residence halls or apartments for fall 2018 and be sophomore standing or above in fall 2018.

Interested students should complete the online hall chair application by July 20.
