Category I: Ninth and tenth grades

The prizes listed below are given to the first, second and third place contestants, as well as 20 runners-up, in each of the writing categories: creative, non-fiction and journalistic.

• First place: $500 and publication in The Laureate and ScholarWorks.
• Second place: $300 and mention in The Laureate and ScholarWorks.
• Third place: $150 and mention in The Laureate and ScholarWorks.

Twenty runners-up will have their names published in The Laureate.

Category II: Eleventh and twelfth grades

The prizes listed below are given to the first, second and third place contestants, as well as 20 runners-up, in each of the writing categories: creative, non-fiction and journalistic.

• First place: $500 and publication in The Laureate and ScholarWorks.
• Second place: $300 and mention in The Laureate and ScholarWorks.
• Third place: $150 and mention in The Laureate and ScholarWorks.
