Lee Honors College

Our Community

Ackley-Shilling Residence Hall Complex

Ackley-Shilling is a living and learning environment that is enthusiastically endorsed by our students. In addition to housing the community of honors students, some honors college classes are taught in the Ackley Hall classroom--very convenient for the students who reside there! Other Ackley-Shilling facilities include: study rooms on every floor; a resource room equipped with drafting tables and resource materials; a computer room; and a fitness room. The students of Ackley-Shilling have a very active residence hall council and sponsor a variety of educational, social, and recreational events. But what students love best is knowing that other honors students are only a few doors away so they can check on an assignment, form an impromptu study group, or simply chat about the latest events at the college.

Honors Student Association

When you choose the Lee Honors College you automatically become a member of the Honors Student Association (HSA) and are warmly invited to attend all of its events. Each year brings an election to the Executive Board. This is a great opportunity to develop your leadership and community-building skills. The HSA plans programs and activities that promote the educational and social interests of our students, including community service projects, a fall cotillion, finals week stress relief activities, graduation receptions, career panels, and forums on current issues.
