At the end of your program you will graduate from the college of your academic curriculum. Prior to your participation in the University Commencement exercise, we invite you to be honored at a special Lee Honors College graduation event, where you will receive a Graduation Certificate from the honors college as well as your honors college cords. This is also a chance to have a more intimate celebration with your family, friends and faculty at a reception following the program.
Your official WMU transcript will also recognize you as a Graduate of the Lee Honors College, list the specific honors courses you have taken, and indicate the title of your thesis. You also will be recognized in the WMU graduation program and have a notation on your WMU diploma. Among the honors our students typically receive while at WMU are their inductions into nationally recognized honors societies: Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Mortar Board.
Since our graduates are from all fields of academic study, many have entered America’s most prestigious graduate schools and/or gone on to become successful engineers, outstanding teachers, top-level managers, performing artists of renown, and noted practitioners in healthcare. Our graduates have also won such prestigious awards as the Gates-Cambridge, and the Wilson, and have become Fulbright and National Science Foundation Fellows.
