Eligibility for Lee Honors College scholarships, Study in the States and other honors experiences is contingent upon maintaining good standing in the honors college.
Lee Honors College advisors conduct GPA audits at the end of fall and spring semesters for all registered honors students. Academic standing notifications are then emailed to all students not in good standing. Annual audits for all honors requirements are conducted every summer and delivered via email to all students in August. Please direct all academic standing questions to your assigned honors college advisor.
A student with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 who has completed all honors college sponsored events attendance and community service requirements is in good standing.
If the cumulative grade point average drops below 3.5, or the community service or honors college sponsored events requirements are not completed, the student will be placed on academic warning status with the honors college and is strongly encouraged to meet with their honors college academic advisor.
If the cumulative grade point average remains below 3.5 following one semester on academic warning status, or the community service or honors college sponsored events requirements remain incomplete, the student will be placed on academic probation with the honors college and is required to meet with a Lee Honors College academic advisor.
After one semester on academic probation, students who fail to achieve a cumulative 3.5 GPA, or have still have not completed the community service or honors college sponsored events requirements, may be dismissed from the Lee Honors College. This does not affect academic standing at Western Michigan University, which requires a minimum GPA of 2.0 for good standing.
