Johnson, Heather. College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Award for her project: "The Lawrence and Chapin Building: A Visible Link to Kalamazoo's Past." Faculty Advisor: Sharon Carlson. This project examined why the building was constructed and how its history reflects the trends in building and land use in the downtown area and also demonstrates the viability of historic preservation.
