South Haven Lighthouse Marker
A collaborative effort between the GLCMS, City of South Haven, and Michigan Coastal Management Program produced a distinctive marker which interprets the history of South Haven's lighthouse and its keepers. The 8' tall structure is strategically positioned next to a well-traveled approach to the south beach, and on the former site of South Haven's U.S. Lifesaving Station. Research, label writing and photo selection was administered by WMU and MMM staff and History student Paula Lange. Funding for design and fabrication of the marker was provided by matching grants from the Michigan Coastal Management Program and MMM.
