Teaching

    Since 2002, I have been teaching History 3290: Michigan History. In addition, I also teach FYE 2100: First Year Experience.

Research

    My focus is state, regional and local history specializing on the history of Kalamazoo especially through its built environment.

Other Prodessional Activies

  • Since 1980, I have led guided walking tours of various areas of Kalamazoo looking at their unique history and architecture. I have a regular series, sponsored by Gazelle Sports since 2002, of free historic walks, held both in the morning and evening from June to October.
  • I give talks around the community on various aspects of regional history.
