PLIP serves families of children between the ages of 2-1/2 and 6 years who have delays in speech and language development. The program offers group and individual speech and language therapy for preschoolers in a "real world" or naturalistic environment. The program works with the families of the children as well as with the preschoolers. The program encourages multidisciplinary interactions within the university and local communities through frequent consultation with professionals from occupational therapy, special education, counseling psychology, social work, adaptive physical education, and early childhood education to offer comprehensive evaluative and intervention services to families.
