The ADL clinic provides an area where clients may practice their daily living activities in a supportive environment. The space is divided into a living room area where clients practice transfers (for instance, from a wheelchair to a sofa), socializing, cleaning, etc.; a kitchen, for practicing meal preparation, clean-up, menu planning, shopping-list compilation, and use of functional memory skills; a bedroom, for practicing bed making, transfers, and organizational tasks; and a bathroom, for practicing transfers, grooming, and bathing.
Typically, clients with cerebral vascular accident (stroke), spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, manic depression, Alzheimer's disease, arthritis, peripheral nerve injury, and degenerative disorders are treated in the clinic.
