The Language and Literacy for Diverse Populations Project was a personnel preparation project designed to increase the number of fully qualified professionals from traditionally underrepresented ethnic/racial or disability groups who are prepared to:

Support the acquisition of oral and written language abilities needed for school success
Collaborate with diverse families and educational agencies
Help students residing in poor underserved areas, and those with disabilities from preschool through adolescence acquire language and literacy skills for success in inclusive academic and social settings
