Admissions and Applications

All applicants to the graduate programs must have completed a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university and must meet the qualifications for admission to the WMU Graduate College.

To apply to the graduate program, students must complete the one page Graduate College application and the departmental application. The departmental application includes a résumé, two copies of transcripts, a personal and professional goals statement, and three reference forms completed by individuals familiar with the applicants' professional skills.
Based on a review of the application material, program(s) admissions committees will invite selected applicants for interviews.
Upon admission, each student is assigned an advisor who will assist in peparing a permanent program of study. The program of study must be completed during the first semester or session of enrollment.

Personal Computer Resources & Services

Given that WMU is the second leading wireless campus in the country, The Department of Blindness and Low Vision Studies strongly encourages applicants to possess minimum technical competence in the use of personal computers and in applications such as Microsoft Office.

Western Michigan University also recommends that students have access to a Minimum Computer System Configuration (http://www.wmich.edu/oit/mcs/minimum-specs.html).
Computer labs (http://www.wmich.edu/oit/students/computers.html) are located throughout the campus for students who are not able to bring their own desktop or laptop computer to campus.
