Setting up Mac Mail

Mac Mail is a full-featured email application that supports IMAP. It may be set up to access your Webmail Plus, however to fully utilize the collaborative features of Webmail Plus, you should use its Web interface. Updates to Thunderbird or Webmail Plus could cause functionality problems which may or may not be resolved quickly.

  1. Start the Mail application.
  2. Select Mail in the Menu Bar and select Add Account…
  3. Select Add Other Mail Account…
  4. Fill in your NameEmail address and Password in the appropriate fields.
  5. You will see the message “Account must be manually configured” select Next
  6. Enter the settings below and click Create

    Incoming

    Mail Server: imap.wmich.edu
    Username: Bronco NetID
    Password: Your Bronco NetID password

    Outgoing

    Mail Server: smtp.wmich.edu
    Username: Bronco NetID
    Password: Your Bronco NetID password
