After you receive a written referral from a WMU Sports Medicine Clinic physician, Health Center clinician, or your personal physician, a thorough rehab evaluation is administered.
Assessment may include mechanism of injury, tissue integrity, posture, strength, joint motion, flexibility, core stability and balance. A comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation program is then designed for you and implemented to prevent further injury and promote healing.
A treatment program may include ice, heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, manual therapy, exercise and functional training.
Our physical therapists and certified athletic trainers specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of conditions ranging from fractures, sprain and strains, back and neck injuries, post surgical conditions and injuries related to work and sports.
