CPR Training

The Office of Health Promotion and Education offers CPR training to Western Michigan University students, faculty, staff and non-WMU community members. The course consists of a four-hour class which provides certification in child, infant and adult CPR; choking; and automated external defibrillator training.

Class schedule

All classes are Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider, unless otherwise noted. If you are looking for Heartsaver/AED, please call our office for dates. Additional classes may be added at any time. Seats are limited and registration is required. Call (269) 387-3263 to register for these classes: 

Monday, July 25, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, August 3, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, August 16, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, August 22, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.


All classes will be held in Sindecuse Health Center on the upper level. Please enter through the door labeled "Classroom Entrance," just to the right of the main entrance. Take the stairs to the upper level. An elevator is available through the main entrance.


Sorry, you may not park in the gated lot for CPR classes. Community members—please ask about parking when you sign up for the class. Adherence to all posted parking signs displaying WMU permit designations is required. Visit WMU Parking Services for parking regulations.


Students: $50
Faculty/Staff: $50
Non-WMU: $60

Payment options: cash, check, credit card or WMU account.
WMU students may charge their student account.
WMU faculty or staff may use payroll deduct.

A no-show fee for the full amount will be charged upon failure to attend without rescheduling at least 24 hours prior to the class.
