The Graduate Student Advisory Committee works to keep you informed regarding GSAC, The Graduate College, and other Campus events pertinent to your career as a Western Michigan University Graduate Students.

CHANGES
In our January 2014 meeting the graduate students present voted to accept a resolution for a name change. Effective July 1, 2014, The Graduate Student Advisory Committee (GSAC) will transition to its new name The Graduate Student Association (GSA). The Constitution and By- Laws will also reflect some structural change as well. Please see under the Resolution bullet the wording that was accepted by the body in January 2014 meeting.

 

The Western Michigan University Graduate College Student Ambassador Program is searching for graduate students that want to promote graduate education both on and off campus and want to represent their discipline and their college to both current and future graduate students!

Graduate student ambassadors

Are you a master’s or doctoral graduate student looking to get involved here at Western Michigan University? Will you be enrolled as a full time student for both fall and spring semesters of the next academic year?*

IF SO…YOU’RE IN LUCK!

Be prepared - applications for the Graduate Student Ambassador Program are due March 27, 2014, no later than 5pm to grad-info@wmich.edu!

Applications must include:

  1.  A Letter of interest stating which Ambassador area you are applying for and identifying the top two choices of GSA position from description in the attached document
  2.  A resume
  3. Two letters of Recommendation from different professors

*Additionally, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and have been enrolled as a graduate student since January 2014. For more detailed information please click here.

NAGPS
National Conference

We want to thank all the Graduate students who volunteered and supported the National Association of Graduate Professional Students (NAGPS) 27th Annual Conference that was hosted on our campus from November 7 to the 10th, 2013! It was a total success. In addition, We are happy to announce that our current Vice Chairperson Rebecca Sametz has been elected to be NAGPS’ Director of Relations. She will be serving all of us with her competency and expertise, now at a national level.
