Sarah Richards is a doctoral student working in developmental genetics in the department of biological Sciences at Western Michigan University. Her research, under the supervision of Dr. Don Kane, focuses on elucidating non-classical roles of an important cell cycle protein in zebrafish development. Her passion is encouraging girls and women to pursue STEM careers, which has led to her involvement in many organizations and volunteer projects to promote females in STEM fields. As Graduate Ambassador for the College of Arts and Sciences in the math and science areas, she is excited for this opportunity to provide peer support to current and incoming graduate students.
