Zahra Ameli Renani is a Master’s student majoring in marriage, couple, and family counseling at Western Michigan University. Ameli has a Bachelor's degree in social science- research from the University of Tehran, Iran. and as an undergraduate, was a research assistant in the Cyberspace Policy Research Center in the department of world studies at the same university.
She started working with the Graduate Student Association as the director and editor of The Hilltop Review journal in the fall of the 2016 semester. Prior to joining the GSA, she used to work as an outreach coordinator/intern in the Western's office of International Student Activities. Her responsibilities included to welcome new international students and arrange volunteer events.
Ameli spends her free time hanging out with her family, and friends. She also enjoys running on the beautiful streets and paths of Kalamazoo, playing outdoor and indoor soccer among other kinds of sports. She is excited to get to know people and learn from their life stories. In addition, she is glad to have the chance to serve Western graduate students as the vice-president.
