The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship Program

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship Program

Graduate scholarships of up to $50,000 per year for up to 6 years, for graduate study anywhere in the world, are available through the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Students interested in applying should be aware of the following:

• Students must apply through their undergraduate institution; institutions can nominate up to two eligible students.
• To be eligible, must be a senior or a recent graduate (since spring 2003) of an accredited U.S. college or university and have a bachelor’s degree by the start of the fall 2008 semester.
• Must plan to begin a full-time graduate or professional degree program at an accredited university in fall 2008. This must be the first graduate degree the candidate has ever pursued.
• Must have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
• Must have unmet financial need.
• Must not previously have been nominated for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation graduate scholarship.

Western Michigan University students who meet these requirements and desire to apply should visit the JKC Foundation website (www.jackkentcookefoundation.org) and review the online application materials. For 2008, application materials are to be submitted online for review by the university’s faculty representative (Dr. Julie Scrivener in the Graduate College). To be considered for nomination, WMU students must submit all materials online by February 15, 2008.

Questions about the nomination process may be directed to Dr. Julie Scrivener
