Abstract:
This dissertation explores media presentation of Theodore J. Kaczynski and Timothy McVeigh. More specifically, I analyze The New York Time's and Time's presentation of these two actors, in order to assess whether their acts were attributed to ideological and political motivation or abnormality and mental illness. This dissertation thus stands at the intersection of mass media and the medicalization of deviance.
