November 3, 2003 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Abstract: We investigate load sharing strategies in distributed systems based on work properties, environment and process organization. For various classes of problems we characterize the paradigms corresponding to applicable communication strategies. We develop suitable structure of the work, and work assignment techniques in order to maximize the efficiency. This research is based in part on work conducted on distributed numerical integration.
