Candidate: Mildred Patricia Howard Degree of: Doctor of EducationDepartment: Teaching, Learning, and Leadership Title: A STUDY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE Date:
Monday, March 15, 2004, 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Committee: Dr. Charles Warfield, Chair The purpose of the study was to determine if a relationship existed between Transformational Leadership and Organizational Culture. The study also considered school size as an interval variable. Statistical tests used to determine possible relationships included F-Tests, T-Tests and canonical Correlations. Findings suggested that additional studies were warranted based on particular subscales of Transformational Leadership. Future studies at the middle school or high school level based on school size is also worth consideration. The overall relationship between culture and leadership were proven to be inconclusive. However, small schools were found to be statistically significant at the .05 level of significance for three pairwise leadership comparisons.
