Continuous Enrollment Requirement
The change in policy for continuous enrollment will take effect in Fall 2002 and removes the requirement for enrollment in the Summer I and Summer II sessions. For students not enrolled in summer I & II sessions, pre-enrollment in the subsequent fall semester is necessary for access to library resources during summer I & II. Continuous enrollment is defined as enrollment in all fall and
spring semesters from the initial enrollment to the semester in which the student graduates. If the student will graduate in summer I or II session, the student must be enrolled in that session. Please refer to the 2002 - 2004 Graduate Catalog for the continuous enrollment policy in its entirety.
Degree Program Grade Point Average
Both an overall grade point average (GPA) and a within-program GPA will be computed for graduate students. Good standing will be based only upon the within-program GPA and thus will reflect actual performance within the discipline.
Doctoral Grade Point Average Requirement
With an implementation date of Fall 2002, the required overall grade point average (GPA) for all graduate students will be at least 3.0 for all graduate work undertaken beyond the bachelor's degree.

Graduate Repeat Course Policy
Effective Fall 2002, permission to repeat a course is required prior to enrollment in the course. The policy also restricts the number of times a course may be repeated during the academic career of the student.
Graduate Appointees
Graduate Appointees are required to be enrolled as a student in each semester or session in which they benefit from their award.
Graduation Auditing Changes
The graduation audit application fee is now $45. There will no longer be a late application deadline after the December 2003 graduation; all audit applications must be made by the stated deadlines. The application deadline for August graduation has been changed to February 1. Graduation audit applications and payment should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar.
Full-time Status
Full-time status remains at 6 Credit Hours in the Fall and Winter semesters and 3 Credit Hours in either of the two summer sessions.
Michigan Intercollegiate Graduate Studies (MIGS)
All credit earned under a MIGS enrollment will be accepted by the student’s home institution as if offered by that institution; unlike regular transfer credits, grades earned in MIGS courses are applied toward the home institution grade point average. When MIGS credits are transferred into a graduate program, the total number of transferred credits from all sources may not exceed 50% of the credits required in the program. Current MIGS forms are available on our Forms page.
