Application deadlines

Due to university restructuring, we will be revising the Master of Arts in teaching program (math & science) in its current form to accommodate a broader array of content areas. While this is exciting news, we unfortunately will be postponing admission to the MAT 2018 cohort. At this time, our goal is to open for the 2019-2020 academic year.

On-going; Cohort coursework begins at the beginning of Summer I Semester. Applicants accepted after March 15 will start working with their cohort the following summer. Candidates are not allowed to join a cohort mid-year.

A resume or curriculum vitae (CV) is required; please submit within the online application system.

Graduate test

This program requires passage of the Professional Readiness Exam for admission to the program. Information about this test may be found at: http://www.mttc.nesinc.com.

Please scan and upload a copy of your test results within the "Other Program Materials" section of the online application. Also, when you take the test, please arrange to have your official scores sent to WMU.

Note: International applicants may have to provide evidence of English language proficiency. More information can be found within the online application.

Recommendations

This program requires three recommendations. Please send email requests for such recommendations from within the online system.

Written statement

Please prepare a statement which covers the following information, and attach it within the online application:

Provide a concise written "statement of purpose" (250 words or less) indicating your reason for seeking admission to the program and what the you hope to accomplish during the program of study.

This program does not require any previous written work be submitted.
