Web Survey of Heritage Water Trail Users
You are invited to participate in a research project entitled “Web Survey of Heritage Water Trail Users” which is designed to evaluate the Michigan Heritage Water Trail program and to analyze and identify economic impacts of water trails in Michigan. This investigation is being conducted by Dr. David Lemberg from the Department of Geography at Western Michigan University, and Dr. James B. Lewis, from the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Western Michigan University.
This survey is comprised of 13 questions concerning your experience on one our Michigan Heritage Water Trails. It should take you approximately 20 minutes to answer. We are asking for some detailed information on spending on your Heritage Water Trail experience. This may require some thought. We realize that you won’t have exact figures, but we would appreciate the best estimates you could provide.
Your responses will help us to evaluate and improve the experiences of future paddlers on the Michigan Heritage Water Trails, assist us in helping groups around the State to better plan future Heritage Water Trail projects.
We request that all participants in this survey be 18 year of age or older. All of the information collected from you is confidential. Your replies will be completely anonymous; we are only requesting your zip code as a means to track where our users are originating. If you are uncomfortable with any of the questions in this survey, please feel free to leave them blank. You may refuse to participate or quit at any time during the survey without prejudice or penalty.
