I began my
geological career doing geomorphology and sedimentology,
mapping south central Eventually, I settled into subsurface sedimentology doing petroleum geology during the 1980’s - 90’s. I worked for both major and independent oil companies in exploration, development and research roles in domestic onshore, offshore and international arenas. My research activities revolved around the application of sedimentary geology to computer-driven basin analysis programs in an attempt to integrate the latest in research thinking with company-wide exploration efforts. This led to better predictions and a more accurate delineation of oil and gas reserves. I was also
involved in developing outcrop-logging techniques in an effort to use
observable turbidite sequences as analogs
to the sub-surface data being collected from the newly emerging Currently, my
main interest is in the application of conventional, oil field
reservoir characterization methodology to the dolomitized
oil and gas reservoirs within the |
