ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
concentration in the Geography Major

A variety of environmental careers exist in business and government. Students prepare for particular career paths by the curricular choices they make. Students should consult with geography faculty or the geography advisor about the courses they choose.



REQUIRED CORE (20 hrs.)

GEOG 1050 Physical Geography  4 hrs
GEOG 2050 Human Geography  3 hrs.
GEOG 2650 Intro Geospatial Technology  3 hrs
GEOG 3030 Geographic Inquiry  4 hrs
GEOG 3500 Conservation and Environmental  
                        Management  3 hrs

*Prerequisite: A course in statistics (STAT 1600, 2160, 2600, or 3660)

ELECTIVES (15 hrs.)
For the remaining 15 hours of coursework, students are encouraged to take at least one geographic methods course, preferably GEOG 5010, 5570, or 5820. Remaining hours in the major are elective, but students should select from GEOG 2440, 3110, 3800, 4120, 5210, 5530, 5540, 5550, 5570, or 5660. No more than one regional geography class should be taken.

COMPLEMENTARY MAJORS AND MINORS

The following majors or minors are recommended with the major: Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Eanglish (Practical Writing), Environmental Studies, Geology, History, Hydology, Journalism, Political Science, Public History, Public Adminsitration, Sociology, or Statistics.
