The Seita Scholars Program is sustained through ongoing university support, grants, and individual donations. Please consider how you might help current and future Seita scholars through providing financial support on a one-time or repeating-gift basis. You may make a tax-deductible donation using your credit card or make your check payable to WMU Foundation, in the memo line enter Seita Scholars Emergency Fund, and mail it to WMU Foundation, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI 49008-5403.
Please also consider including the Foster Youth & Higher Education Initiative as you make your decisions for planned-giving.
All donations are tax deductible.

As a gift from the WMU and Kalamazoo communities, each new Seita Scholar arriving to campus is greeted with an overflowing basket filled with needed items to start their college career. April through August donated items such as bedding, personal care items, backpacks, alarm clocks, and much more are received from individuals, campus departments, and community organizations. (Only new items are accepted for this gift.)
If you are interested in donating in this way and/or serving on the welcome pack initiative planning committee, please complete our volunteer form.
Many Seita scholars remain on campus during the time the university is closed between fall and spring semesters. As cafeterias are not open during this period, volunteers are needed to donate meal items or gift cards to local restaurants, to organize group meals such as pizza parties, etc. If you would like to participate in ensuring that Seita scholars remaining on campus during winter closure have hot meals, plesae complete our volunteer form.
At the end of each academic year, we celebrate with Seita scholars by hosting a picnic at the pond here on campus.
