
All faculty and staff who have laptops with sensitive information should install TrueCrypt software to protect their files from unauthorized access and in case the laptop is stolen.
TrueCrypt is encryption software which makes digital files unreadable except to the person who has a password to open them.
Sensitive information is any document containing WINs, Social Security numbers, grades, financial information, research, and other information that is critical to protect.
